The Audi R8 Camera box is located behind the passenger seat. You will need to remove the panel as shown in the photo below to access the module. Unplug the Grey Fakra connector and attach the extension lead to the Grey connector. Run the cable down through the center console to reach the rear of the new touchscreen stereo.
CAM-MB1-RT Reverse Camera Retention Interface
This Universal Blue Fakra (code Z) to male PHONO socket cable allows you to retain an original reverse camera from various vehicles such as Ford, Land Rover, Porsche, Jaguar & Mercedes.
For this cable to be compatible, your OEM system will have fakra connections present on the head unit. These are usually green or brown in colour and are not always located on the monitor itself, but quite often the media system the monitor is connected to. If it is connected to a seperate module, a Fakra extension may also be required.
This Adaptor also enables you to adapt and connect a video signal with a video input like DVD, Video Sources, DVB-T Tuner, etc. Most commonly, this adaptor is used to retain a factory reverse camera to be used with an after-market head unit.
